John Waiting

On graduating from Imperial College in 1978, John Waiting commenced his career with Sir Frederick Snow & Partners gaining experience in airport design and public health engineering.  During this time he was also seconded to French Kier as an Engineer on the Barking Barrier before joining Waterman in 1984.

Within Waterman John has been responsible for the growth of the civil engineering consultancy which initially focused on development related infrastructure and rail engineering.  John became an Associate in 1990, a Director in 1994 and Managing Director in 2001.  In 2002 he successfully managed the merger of Waterman Civil and Transportation with Aspen Burrow Crocker to create Waterman Civils Ltd.

In addition to managing Waterman Civils, John has been the Group Director responsible for Health and Safety and the Group IT facilities. John was appointed to the plc Board in 2005.
