Accessibility

We hope that you do not experience any difficulty when using our website.  The content has been designed to be as accessible as possible, however there are things you can do if you are having difficulty. All the suggestions described below will improve the accessibility of web pages on every site you visit, not just our own.

Using your Internet Explorer you can alter the size and colour of the text, the background colour and the size and shape of the website page. You can also over-ride the colour schemes of this website and others with your own preferred settings.

Most of the font on our site is displayed in Arial, however, if you have a preference for a different font:

  • Go to the ‘Tools’ menu of your Microsoft Internet Explorer and click ‘Internet Options’
  • On the ‘General’ tab, click on ‘Fonts’
  • In the Web Page Font list, select the font you would like to use
  • Click ‘OK’

If you wish to display the text larger or smaller:

  • Go to the ‘View’ menu and click ‘Text Size’
  • Select the font size you would like to use

You can override fonts, typefaces and background colours by:

  • Going to the ‘Tools’ menu, and clicking on ‘Internet Options’
  • On the ‘General’ tab, click on ‘Colours’
  • Then click on the tick box labelled ‘Use Windows Colours’ (to remove the tick)
  • Click ‘Text’, and select the colour you want. Click ‘OK’
  • Click ‘Background’, and then select the colour you want to use. Click ‘OK’

To change the size of the window that you are viewing the webpage in:

  • Go to the ‘View’ Menu, click ‘Full Screen’

If you would like to permanently apply the font and colour changes outlined above, go to the 'Tools' menu and click on ‘Internet Options’. On the 'General' tab, select ‘Accessibility’ and then tick the three boxes to make your changes permanent.

If you have any problems changing these settings, click the ‘Help’ menu on the browser toolbar. If your browser has different options to the above, look at the ‘Help’ menu for specific instructions.
