Scottish Ballet HQ wins two design awards
Waterman is delighted that Scottish Ballet’s new national headquarters, designed by Malcolm Fraser Architects, has received two prizes at the prestigious Scottish Design Awards: Best Public Building and the Architecture Grand Prix.
Waterman acted as building services engineer for the £11 million project which was developed in partnership with Scottish Executive, Scottish Arts Council, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and Glasgow City Council.
The state of the art 8,000 m2 facility on Glasgow’s south side opened in June 2009 and is enabling Scottish Ballet to continue to flourish and develop world class performances.
Jim Travers, Operations Director for Waterman Scotland said: “We are delighted to have worked as part of the project team which delivered this inspirational building and that its design has been recognised with these prestigious awards.”
