Allerton Waste Recovery Park shortlisted for BCIA
We are delighted to announce that Allerton Waste Recovery Park has been shortlisted for Utility Project of the Year at the British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA).
The awards recognise excellence and innovation in construction, and celebrate the industry’s achievements. Eight categories address key areas where the government wants to see a greater return on its investment – in terms of both economic infrastructure such as transport and utility networks, and social infrastructure such as housing, schools and hospitals.
The 13,500 m2 multi-treatment facility spans 5.1 hectares of land in North Yorkshire. With the capacity to process 320,000 tons of waste per year, the facility can generate sufficient electricity for up to 40,000 homes.
Waterman was appointed by Vinci to provide multidiscipline services including Structural, Civils and Drainage, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire and Environmental consultancy services.
The Awards ceremony will take place on 10 October at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
Congratulations to all involved in the project!
