Royal College of Pathologists’ HQ Highly Commended at The Concrete Society Awards
Waterman are delighted that the Royal College of Pathologists’ (RCP) new HQ has been Highly Commended at The Concrete Society Awards.
The Awards, established in 1968, celebrates excellence in concrete and reward the outstanding use of the material in building design. The ceremony was held at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 20 November.
The RCP’s new eight-storey headquarters in Aldgate, central London, is the permanent home of their staff and professional members. Featuring a double-height entrance atrium with floor to ceiling windows to maximise natural daylight, the Bennetts Associates architectural design includes a suite of state-of-art facilities with a multi-purpose 210-person conference theatre, meeting rooms, office space and examination rooms.
Waterman’s team provided the structural design for the project, working closely with the architect to incorporate pioneering concrete techniques which add to the premium look of the building’s interior finishes, whilst also saving time and cost elsewhere.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this award-winning project!
