Three Waterman projects shortlisted for BCO Awards
Waterman are delighted that Minster Court and 160 Aldersgate have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace’ category, whilst Elekta Crawley has been shortlisted for ‘Best Corporate Office’ in the Regional British Council of Offices (BCO) Awards 2019.
The widely respected annual awards ceremony celebrates the most influential office developments which demonstrate the importance of space in supporting the wellbeing of staff, increasing efficiency and serving the business over time.
Minster Court – ‘Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace’
Having opened its doors in February 2018, Minster Court is an iconic 275,000 ft2 office building located in the heart of London’s insurance district. Comprising 65,000 ft2 of café, restaurant, bar and shop amenities, the scheme has dynamic design attributes which include state-of-art technology and carefully planned relaxation spaces to provide its inhabitants with ultimate comfort and modern well-being.
Waterman’s building services and structures teams were appointed by Greycoat on this prestigious development.
160 Aldersgate – ‘Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace’
160 Aldersgate offers 266,000 ft2 of extensively refurbished, high quality office space for the City of London market. As designed by Fletcher Priest Architects, the project consisted of a dramatic reconfiguration of the existing atrium, full replacement to the existing façade, new open roof terraces and the inclusion of additional storeys.
Waterman were appointed to carry out full structural, M&E and fire engineering design duties for the scheme which completed in October 2017.
Elekta, Crawley – ‘Best Corporate Office’
Elekta’s new Cornerstone facility in the Manor Royal Business District provides 131,000 ft2 Grade A office space. Designed by TP Bennett architects, the facility integrated Elekta’s existing UK headquarters on the five-acre site, combining both its research and development team, and its global product support and administration functions into the new premises.
Waterman’s building services team were appointed by Bridgecore to provide the Employers Requirements design and specification for the developments shell and core, Cat A and Cat B fit-out.
The BCO judges will be visiting projects across February prior to the winners being announced.
The Awards are being held across the Regions from 29 March to 23 May, with the National Awards Dinner taking place on 1 October at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
