VIVID Expression in Sydney
Sydney will be transformed into a spectacular canvas of light, music and ideas when Vivid Sydney takes over the city from 24th of May until 10th June 2013.
Vivid Sydney is the biggest festival of its kind in the southern hemisphere and a major highlight is the hugely popular immersive light installations and projections event. Waterman Sydney personnel are represented on two of the light installations.
Lighting Designer and Electrical Engineer Colin Shum has been a key contributor to the Walsh Bay Whispers project. The project is described as a real-time public theatre with motion sensors detecting the movement and proximity of visitors. A series of occurrences is then triggered which will take them by surprise and give an encounter of Walsh Bay’s colourful past! Waterman also provided structural and constructability advice for the installation.
Structural/Civil Engineer Hassan Narimani contributed to the We See Saw project. The project allows visitors to take a ride on the We See Saw where a LED screen lights up in individual colour schemes with each bounce of the see-saw.
