Westgate Oxford scoops RIBA South Award
Waterman are delighted to see Westgate Oxford taking home the Royal Institute for British Architects (RIBA) South Award.
The prestigious Awards celebrates buildings of significant architectural importance in the UK and around the world. RIBA prizes are internationally recognised as a mark of excellence, championing the best architecture, architects, research and students.
Westgate’s new £440 m shopping destination has played a key role in the regeneration of Oxford’s city centre, accommodating 800,000 ft2 of retail and leisure outlets. Anchored by a three-storey John Lewis department store, the Centre boasts over 100 new shops, restaurants, cafés and leisure uses including a boutique five-screen Curzon Cinema. Our team provided structural, civil, environmental and flood risk services throughout this prestigious scheme.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this impressive project.
