Swinburne Advanced Technologies Centre
The project consisted of a new 8-level Research and Teaching building constructed on the existing Swinburne University campus in Hawthorn.
The Advanced Technology Centre for Swinburne University’s main Melbourne Campus incorporates multiple PC1, PC2 and special purpose Laboratories.
The building also houses specialist material handling laboratories, classrooms, lecture theatres and teacher support areas.
The project was designed and engineered to a 5-star Green Star rating and incorporates such features as active chilled beam air-conditioning system, primary air and displacement air-conditioning systems, fume cupboard systems, rainwater harvest systems, high efficiency chiller systems, 3C coolers, lighting, power, data and communication systems.
Waterman undertook he full design, documentation and construction phase services for the project. Waterman services included Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, Hydraulics, Vertical Transport and ESD.
