Waterman has been re-appointed to the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Management Consultancy Framework (MCF4).

Our successful re-appointment will see us provide an increased range of services covering environmental, sustainability and infrastructure advice over the two-year framework.

Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is the UK’s biggest public procurement organisation and an executive agency of the Cabinet Office. MCF4 provides clients access to advice for a range of specialisms helping the public sector maximise every pound so precious resources can go where they are needed most.

The robust selection criteria required successful suppliers to demonstrate a track record of delivering the highest levels of professional advice, carbon management and cyber security. The framework is utilised by Central Government Departments and all other UK Public Sector Bodies, including Local Authorities, Health, Police, Fire and Rescue, Education, Charities, Third Sector, Housing Associations and Devolved Administrations.

Our appointment follows on from our work on MCF3 where we delivered multiple projects working with a range of clients including the Civil Aviation Authority, Network Rail, Highlands & Islands Airports, along with a number of local authorities.

]]> Waterman Moylan provided full planning, design, health and safety and project management services in connection with a two-storey extension to the existing main airside emergency response centre at Dublin Airport.

The centre operates 24 hours a day, year-round, and houses all emergency response vehicles and equipment for runway, taxiway and aircraft parking apron incidents. It also houses the incident coordination and control centre as well as all training, office and welfare facilities for the on-duty staff. Planning for the extension included development of detailed working procedures for everything from access to the site to construction activities on site and phasing of the works, to ensure that there would be no risk of any impairment of the emergency services teams at any stage.

The extension itself provided space for new training, welfare, canteen and administration facilities for the emergency services teams and was successfully integrated into the existing centre.

]]> Our specialists provided multidisciplinary design services and health and safety consultancy (PSDS) for Dublin Airport’s central immigration facilities.

Located on the ground floor of the Pier A link building, the immigration control facility was designed to improve the operational efficiency of the immigration control process and to reduce waiting times for passengers. It was also essential that it maintained separation of Pier A (200 series gates) and Pier D (100 series gates) passengers up to the point of presentation to immigration control to prevent cross flows and congestion.

The project also included the relocation and fit-out of a pilot’s briefing room for Aer Lingus pilots, along with a technical services area for Dublin Airport Authority technical services unit.
