Berkeley Foundation five-a-side football tournament

Our Structures team in London were proud to be invited to join the Berkeley Foundation five-a-side football tournament on Friday 29 September 2017.

The tournament saw 36 teams from across Berkeley staff, Sub-Contractors and Consultants taking part and raising an impressive £52,800 for Demelza Hospice Care for Children, a charity which provides vital care to families across East Sussex, Kent and South East London.

Although getting off to a good start within a hopeful 3-3 draw in the first match, luck was not on their side as the Waterman team lost the final four matches by a staggering 29-0 goals. Not to be downhearted, they qualified for the knock-out stages of the ‘plate’ competition and withdrew to the bar for some much-needed TLC.

Andrew Harrison, Team Manager, commented of the matches; “The stakes were high, as were our team’s egos, but I’m glad to report that all our players appear to be a making a full recovery after their defeat. We had a great day and I want to say a big thanks to everyone for putting their lives on the line for this worthwhile cause.”
