Margaret completed an Electrical Engineering Technicians course at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) in 1985 and a BSc (Hons) in Electrical Services and Energy Management.
Margaret has over 30 years’ experience as a successful Building Services Design Engineer and Project Manager and is also a Chartered Engineer. She has delivered large and small scale projects in the Industrial, Commercial, Institutional, Healthcare, Cultural and Design and Build sectors.
In 2007, Margaret was elected as the chairman of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) Republic of Ireland. She has been an active committee member for the past 16 years and served as Honorary Secretary for eight years.
One of Margaret’s recently completed high profile projects is the Art and Cultural Complex Grand Canal Square Theatre (now renamed to The Board Gas Theatre). This new 2,100 seat performing Arts Theatre and adjoining 40,000 sq m office complex was designed by Studio Daniel Libeskind of New York. The Project received the ACE (Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland) Design Excellence award in March 2011 for the Mechanical and Electrical Services Design.
She acted as an industry representative on the interview committee for lecturers at the Dublin institute of Technology until recently. Margaret was also the CIBSE representative on a BRAB working group on the elaboration of 2010 Part L Building Regulations Targets for buildings other than Dwellings.
In 2014, she joined Waterman Moylan and is an Associate in Building Services.
