Mark graduated from the University of Manchester in 1980 with a BSc in Civil Engineering. He commenced his career with West Yorkshire Metropolitan County Council, transferring across to Kirklees Council upon the abolition of WYMCC in 1986. Mark has a background in Highway Engineering and Contracts, becoming Chartered with the Institution of Civil Engineers in 1984. He completed an MSc in Construction Management in 1988.
Having been a Senior Project Engineer at Kirklees C Mark joined Aspen Associates in 1990, primarily undertaking secondment work to a range of Clients (Frank Graham Consulting Engs, York City C, Lincolnshire CC) in the formative years in addition to managing the growth of the Aspen secondment business across Northern England.
Mark became a Director of Waterman Aspen following the takeover of Aspen in 2001. In the years following Mark managed the expanded Waterman Aspen business across the North of the UK, including Scotland. Following a management restructure in 2012 Mark became responsible for the Operational part of the Waterman Aspen Specialist Staff Secondment business throughout the whole of the UK, having a particular remit for the growth and development of the management team together with recruitment of professional, technical and business support staff.
