Allerton Waste Recovery Park shortlisted for ICE Award
We are pleased that our project Allerton Waste Recovery Park has been shortlisted for the ‘Centenary Award – £5m and over’ at ICE Yorkshire and Humber Civil Engineering Awards.
The annual ICE Awards showcase the collective and individual achievements of civil engineers and recognise excellence and innovation in civil engineering.
The ‘Centenary Award’ celebrates projects valued to £5m and over, taking into consideration factors including value and impact on society, sustainability, quality of design, difficulty and response, collaboration and excellence in delivery.
Allerton Waste Recovery Park is a 13,500m2 multi-treatment development on 5.1 hectares of land in North Yorkshire comprising an energy from waste facility, a mechanical treatment facility and an anaerobic digestion unit. The new state-of-the-art facility has a capacity to process 320,000 tons of waste per year, generating electricity for up to 40,000 homes.
Waterman was appointed by Vinci to provide Structural, Civils and Drainage, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire and Environmental consultancy services.
The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on 2nd March at The Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.
