Five projects nominated for Irish Construction Excellence Awards

Waterman Moylan are delighted that five of their projects, Capital Dock, MacUilliam Heights, Gort Lar, IDA Advanced Office Building in Limerick and the IDA Advanced Technology Building in Waterfront have been nominated within the ‘Residential’, ‘Commercial under €10m’ and ‘Industrial Under €10m’ categories of the upcoming Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards.

The Awards recognises excellence in performance for the contracting sector in Ireland, rewarding companies who strive to move the industry forward across 22 premier categories.

Capital Dock – Residential
Capital Dock’s prime 4.8 acre-waterfront scheme in Dublin’s central business district comprises a 60,000 m2 mixed-use contemporary office, residential and retail development. The prestigious scheme delivers 190 high-quality residential units across three buildings, one of which is 23-storeys and the tallest in Dublin, and 35,000 m2 of office amenities. Waterman Moylan were appointed by Kennedy Wilson to provide civil and structural engineering services and construction-related health and safety advisory services on the project.

MacUilliam Heights – Residential
This social housing project in Tallaght, Dublin 24, consists of 28 new-build detached and semi-detached properties. Complete with landscaping, each of the homes has been built to a high-standard and includes front and rear gardens, fully fitted kitchens and solar panels to reduce energy costs. Waterman Moylan  were appointed by South Dublin County Council to provide civil and structural engineering design services.

Gort Lar – Residential
Gort Lar is a 14-unit social housing infill scheme constructed on a confined site between existing residential estates in Tallaght. It provides connectivity between the two estates and with a very creative layout, succeeding in addressing itself to the neighbouring houses while at the same time creating a strong sense of place for the new residents. Waterman Moylan were appointed by South Dublin County Council to fill the civil and structural engineering role.

IDA Advanced Office Building, Limerick – Commercial under €10m
The three-storey new build for Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Ireland consists of 4,000 m2 of high-quality office space in the well-established 156-hectare Business and Technology Park, located three miles east of Limerick city. Waterman Moylan were appointed to provide civil and structural engineering services.

IDA Advanced Technology Building, Waterford – Industrial Under €10m
As one of four similar schemes delivered for IDA Ireland in Limerick, Dundalk and Tralee, the 3,000 m2 state-of-the-art new build is located in the 28 hectare Waterford Business & Technology Park in Butlerstown. Waterman Moylan were appointed to provide civil and structural engineering services.
