St Albans Academy wins RIBA Awards

Waterman are delighted that St Albans Academy, Birmingham, has been awarded both a RIBA West Midlands Regional and National Award.

The win comes as a great triumph for dRMM architects and all involved as this was a project challenged by budgetary and procurement constraints. Initiated within the Birmingham BSF programme, and complicated by its eventual cancellation, the response demanded an economic yet inspiring design. Waterman successfully delivered all detailed building services design on behalf of Lend Lease.

The RIBA National Award winners are made up from forty-three projects in the UK and nine from elsewhere in Europe. These will all be in the running for the RIBA Stirling Prize shortlist which will be announced in July.
