The Buttercross ‘Highly Commended’ at LABC Awards
We are delighted that Bower Mapson’s development ‘The Buttercross’, Witney, was ‘Highly Commended’ in the category for ‘Best High Volume New Housing Development’ at LABC’s Building Excellence Awards Grand Finals on 10th November.
The LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Awards celebrate achievements in the construction industry and reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, and partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile.
The Grand Finals is a national event bringing all 12 winners from across the regions to compete. The LABC Awards celebrate achievements in the construction industry and reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile. ‘The Buttercross’ scheme involved the demolition of 128,000 sq ft of derelict warehousing and the redevelopment of a new residential area, comprising an extra care apartment block and 106 two, three and four-bedroom houses and apartments built using a range of materials sensitive to the Cotswolds style.
Waterman was appointed by Bower Mapson to provide contaminated land, geotechnical and health & safety advice from very early in the project through to completion of remediation and earthworks.
Paul Everall, LABC Chief Executive, commented at Awards ceremony: “Our building excellence awards are an opportunity for the industry to celebrate innovation and good practice. Our winners demonstrate how positive working relationships with local council building control teams achieve high quality, sustainable buildings. Our awards are unique because they recognise how this cooperation improves building standards and professionalism across the industry.”
Richard Meredith and Carl Slater from Waterman’s design team attended the awards ceremony at Westminster Park Plaza in London.
Congratulations to those involved in this great project!
