Victoria Gate shortlisted for AJ Architecture Award

We are delighted that our project Victoria Gate has been shortlisted for ‘Mixed-use project of the Year’ at the AJ Architecture Awards.

The Awards celebrate the very best built projects in the UK. The selected schemes range from small community gems, to major cultural projects, educational buildings and workplace designs.

The category ‘Mixed-use project of the Year’ recognises new-build or significantly upgraded, extended or refurbished mixed-use developments designed for at least two distinct uses (for example, shop with flats) and completed between January 2016 and July 2017.

Victoria Gate, the prestigious retail landmark in Leeds is anchored by the flagship John Lewis store as well as 30 new retailers and restaurants, making it the go to premium shopping, leisure and dining destination in the North.

We are proud to have provided multidiscipline services for the development and were also appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to complete the multidisciplinary engineering services design as part of their design and build contract, with additional expertise provided on the acoustics, fire engineering and transportation.

The winners will be revealed at the Awards ceremony on 7th December 2017 at Grosvenor House Hotel, London. The evening’s celebrations will end with the announcement of three special awards, chosen from all entries: the AJ Design of the Year, the AJ Architect of the Year and the AJ Editor’s Choice Award.

We are also pleased to see our projects – Google Pancras Square and St James’s Market being shortlisted for ‘Workplace of the Year’, whilst Angel Court is nominated for ‘Tall Building of the Year’.
