Waterman shortlisted for Apprentice Employer of the Year
Waterman are delighted to be one of four finalists within The Southwark Business Excellence Awards for ‘Apprentice Employer of the Year’.
The awards in its second year, organised by Southwark Chamber of Commerce with the support of Southwark Council, celebrates the achievements of the borough’s vibrant business community.
Waterman believe in the importance of bringing new talent into the industry and are actively working alongside organisations such as schools, colleges and universities across the UK to recruit the next generation of engineers. To future proof our scheme we continuously explore ways to develop our apprenticeship offerings, and ensuring apprentices always work alongside highly experienced team members as they develop their skills, is a crucial part of this.
Group Learning & Development Manager, Nick Harrison is the drive behind Waterman’s success, he commented; “It is extremely rewarding to be recognised in this way. We are very proud of the strong relationships we have built with organisations which have enabled us to develop our talent pipeline and lead the way for the future of engineering. Within this competitive industry, it is crucial we aim to provide the highest quality of apprenticeships to produce the most forward-thinking engineers. We are delighted to be seen as a leading apprentice employer and one that is passionate about contributing to the success of apprenticeships within the community.”
The finalists will be facing an interview with the judges panel on 8th May at London Southbank University.
The winners, along with the overall Business of the Year, will be announced at the awards ceremony in the Hilton Bankside Hotel, London, on 13 June.
