Midlands Highways Alliance Professional Services

Waterman has delivered highways services to the award winning Midlands Highways Alliance (MHA) since 2007. The MHA was the first partnership of its kind in the UK and has 21 local authority members, comprising 15% of the UK’s Highway Authorities. Members work collaboratively to improve performance, share best practice and make efficiency savings. In April 2015 Waterman, in partnership with AECOM, was re-appointed for a further 3 + 1 year term as the sole professional services provider.

The scope of the Professional Services Partnership is for the design and supervision of highways, civil and municipal engineering works with a value up to £8m per annum.

We have seconded engineers to work in co-located teams in client offices and are involved in the delivery of major projects and public realm improvements; bridge maintenance, assessment and design; traffic management and transport planning support; and asset management and highways maintenance.

In addition to these core services we also supply specialist support including flood risk management, commercial management, street lighting design; and support to Learning and Development via the MHA Skills Academy.

“Waterman continues to provide high quality innovative solutions and I would have no hesitation in using their organisation again.”
Peter Barclay, Midlands Highways Alliance Manager
