MIRA Technology Park

HORIBA MIRA, which is located on the A5 in West Leicestershire, comprises of advance motor industry research and development facilities and a high speed proving ground. Over 70 years, MIRA has grown into a truly international organisation with facilities located around the world. Their work spans the Automotive, Aerospace, Rail and Defence industries and includes the development of ground-breaking low carbon and autonomous vehicle technologies.

The site is ideally located close to the Midlands Motor Industry and Highway network. HORIBA MIRA is now at an advanced stage with their planning and development activities for MIRA Technology Park. Interest from around the world has already been significant and there is confidence that this world class development will become the location of choice for global businesses operating in the transport R&D sector.

The proposed 87.5 hectare, 1.5 million square foot development will create a platform for the rapid delivery of bespoke R&D centres ranging from start up facilities right up to major European R&D operations.

MIRA Technology Park is the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) designated enterprise zone for Leicestershire.

Waterman have been appointed to the MIRA Technology Park consultancy framework and are supplying Structural and Civil Engineering services in relation to major offsite Highways enabling work and on site vehicle testing facility improvements. Early activity has included Client services, drainage design, and Highway Structure RDP Review of Design Principles for upgrading and the dualling the A5 including a new gyratory and new access road.

Waterman Structures were most recently involved in the design of the Aston Martin research plant and new technical buildings within the proving ground infield.
