8 Finsbury Circus scoops Best Commercial Workplace at BCO Awards
We are delighted that our project 8 Finsbury Circus was awarded Best Commercial Workplace at the National BCO Awards that took place at Grosvenor House in London on the evening of 3 October.
The widely respected British Council for Offices (BCO) Awards is one of the most relevant within the commercial property sector for developers and occupiers, demonstrating how the best designed office space can support wellbeing of staff, increase efficiency and serve the business over time.
8 Finsbury Circus is a 17,000m2 commercial property of exceptional architectural design by WilkinsonEyre. Waterman was appointed by Stanhope and Mitsubishi Estate to provide structural engineering services on this prestigious project.
8 Finsbury Circus impressed judges with its two distinct frontages: one addressing Finsbury Circus with an elegant calm insertion into a curving elevation, whilst the other incorporates the original façade overlooking the busy route to Liverpool Street Station. Nigel Clark, Chair of the BCO National Judging Panel, commented: “This year’s winners are a study in how Britain has maintained its position at the forefront of the global office sector. Each building is both adaptable and robust, providing occupiers with the flexibility they need to ensure the wellbeing and productivity of their workforce.”
Richard Whitehead, Board Director of Waterman Structures, commented; “We are thrilled to see 8 Finsbury Circus win this prestigious award. It is a huge achievement which provides clear recognition of the joint efforts of the entire project team.”
Congratulations to all involved in this exciting project!
