Baggot Plaza shortlisted for two Irish Construction Industry Awards

We are delighted to announce that our project Baggot Plaza in Dublin has been shortlisted for ‘Commercial Project of the Year’ and ‘Green Project of the Year’ at the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2017.

The Irish Construction Industry Awards encourage and celebrate original and innovative contractors, businesses, teams, consultants and projects that demonstrate excellence in the built environment.

The category ‘Commercial Project of the Year’ recognises excellence in a construction project for offices and business spaces which are not retail in nature. This includes office blocks, service centres, airport terminal buildings, farming, warehousing and can be either a new build or an extension to an existing building.

The category ‘Green Project of the Year’ recognises the most interesting sustainable building project completed in Ireland over the past 12 months. This includes all residential or non-residential buildings or developments – Houses, apartments, offices, health, educational, leisure, hotels, industrial and public sector.

Baggot Plaza, one of the most prestigious properties in Kennedy Wilson’s portfolio, involves the refurbishment and extension of an existing 1970’s 7-storey office building located at the heart of the Grand Canal commercial district. The building has been re-clad externally with the introduction of red sandstone to the primary Baggot Street elevation and with coloured horizontal tile cladding to the remaining facades. The completed project has also recently received LEED Gold Accreditation due to the efforts of the design and construction teams.

We were appointed by Kennedy Wilson to provide the Civil, Structural, Traffic and Health & Safety services and worked closely with the design team and the contractor to complete this landmark project.

The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on 9th May 2017 at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin.

Congratulations to all involved in this great project!
