Baking a difference to support the Alzheimer’s Society
On 13 June, staff within our London, Nottingham, Birmingham and Glasgow offices were baking a difference by hosting a Cupcake Day in support of The Alzheimer’s Society.
Although we can all expect to forget things once in a while, dementia is not a natural part of ageing and is caused by various diseases of the brain, including Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. While there are lots of different causes, there isn’t currently a cure available and six people in the UK will develop dementia in the time it takes to bake a batch of cupcakes.
With dementia surpassing both cancer and heart disease as the leading cause of death in England and Wales, the money our teams have raised is helping to fund pioneering research, crucial support services and vital care in the fight again the UK’s biggest killer.
After raising £2.7 million since 2016, the Cupcake Day is getting bigger and better each year, and it doesn’t just have to be on 13 June! If you would like to host your own Cupcake Day today, please click here.
