Ballymena Health & Care Centre wins RIBA Regional Award
We are delighted that our project Ballymena Health & Care Centre in Northern Ireland has won a RSUA Award at the RIBA Regional Awards 2017.
The RSUA Award recognises projects that are particularly challenging given their technical and logistical complexity.
The healthcare centre, situated within the Braid Valley Hospital site in Ballymena includes a wide range of primary care facilities from GP surgeries to dentists, and other allied health professionals.
Waterman was appointed by Northern Health Estates to provide civil and structural engineering design within a full BIM environment, working collaboratively with the Architects and Building Services Engineers.
Ciarán Fox, Director of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects, commented; “What this year’s award winners demonstrate most clearly is that it doesn’t matter if the overall project budget is small or large; it pays to invest in good design.”
The winners were announced at the awards ceremony on 22nd May 2017 at the RIBA, 66 Portland Place in London.
Ballymena Health & Care Centre will now be considered for a RIBA National Award in recognition of architectural excellence which will be announced in June.
Congratulations to all involved in this great project!
