Blairdardie Primary School completes
Waterman are delighted that our Blairdardie Primary School development has reached practical completion. This new primary school facility, in the West End of Glasgow, is the second school to be completed by the Waterman team this year, in partnership with hub West and Glasgow City Council.
Waterman were appointed to provide civil, structural and geotechnical engineering services along with environmental, ecological, flood, drainage and transportation advice. The project was delivered through hub West Scotland which is a private sector development framework that works in partnership with public sector partners.
The new state-of-the-art facility is situated in the former school’s playing fields adjacent to the existing school. With a capacity to accommodate up to 462 pupils, the facility provides a flexible learning environment with 16 classrooms, a raised stage, a drama room, a four-court gym hall and changing room facilities. As well as the learning facilities, the new development allows for additional sporting and community facilities, including a full-size football pitch.
Frank Chambers, Associate Director of Waterman Structures, commented; “We are very proud to have been involved in delivering the Blairdardie Primary School. It has been a great collaborative effort from inception. Congratulations to all involved in the project.”
