Charlie Scott joins NLA Net Zero Expert Panel
Waterman is delighted to announce that Charlie Scott, a Board Director of Waterman Structures, will be joining the New London Architecture (NLA) Expert Panel for Net Zero 2020.
NLA have a vision to bring people together to shape a better city and improve quality of life across London through a better planned, designed and managed built environment as set out in the New London Charter.
Their new series of Expert Panels aims to bring together industry experts from across the NLA membership for a 12-month commitment where they will be able to advise on core programmes, provide thought-leadership on design, development and construction in London, in addition to responding to new policies or consultations.
As part of the Net Zero Expert Panel, Charlie will, together with 12-15 senior professionals who represent both the public and private sectors, focus on the priorities for London to achieve Net Zero and the role that the built environment has to play in meeting this target.
With a passion for design excellence and sustainability, Charlie has championed the design of passively-cooled office buildings and has implemented this across landmark projects such as Quadrant:Mk and the Ordnance Survey HQ.
His commitment to creative design and innovation in engineering has punctuated his career and been the key theme behind his speaking engagements and editorial commitments. Charlie is also a member of the Waterman Zero Carbon Taskforce, driving research and developing tools and techniques to optimise designs, whilst reducing embodied and whole-life carbon.
Charlie commented; “I am excited to be invited onto the Expert Panel for Net Zero. It is a topic so close to my heart and it is a privilege to be able to join like-minded experts to try to help encourage and drive beneficial change.”
