Concrete Society Awards shortlisting for Royal College of Pathologists new HQ
Waterman are delighted that the Royal College of Pathologists (RCP) new HQ in London has been shortlisted for The Concrete Society Awards 2019. The awards, established in 1968, celebrate excellence in concrete and reward the outstanding use of the material in building design.
The RCP’s new 8-storey HQ in Aldgate, central London, is the permanent home of their staff and professional members. Featuring a double-height entrance atrium with floor to ceiling windows to maximise natural daylight, the Bennetts Associates architectural design includes a suite of state-of-art facilities with a multi-purpose 210-person conference theatre, meeting rooms, office space and examination rooms.
Our team provided the structural design for the project, working closely with the architect to incorporate pioneering concrete techniques which add to the premium look of the building’s interior finishes, whilst also saving time and cost elsewhere.
Award winners will be announced at a ceremony held at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 20th November.
