Four Waterman Projects shortlisted for BCIA

We are delighted to see four of our projects shortlisted at the British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA).

The Awards are one of the most prestigious in the built environment sector, with winning projects and teams recognised for their achievements across the industry.

25 Wilton Road

Shortlisted category: ‘Commercial Property Project of the Year’

25 Wilton Road is a 151,983 sq.ft commercial office and residential development for Royal London located in Central London, within the City of Westminster and adjacent to Victoria Train Station. The new development is a comprehensive refurbishment of the building including remodelling of the existing commercial floor space by infilling of the existing central atrium voids and vertical extension of the building to provide 14 new residential units.

Waterman was appointed to provide Structural Engineering Services.

Westgate Oxford

Shortlisted category: ‘Commercial Property Project of the Year’

Westgate Oxford is the new £440m shopping destination in Oxford’s city centre accommodating 800,000 sq ft of retail and leisure outlets.

Anchored by a three-storey John Lewis department store, the Westgate Centre boasts over 100 new shops, restaurants, cafés and leisure uses including a boutique five-screen Curzon Cinema.

The redevelopment plays a key role in the regeneration of Oxford city centre, creating high-quality buildings, and it has already become internationally recognised for many awards.

Our team was appointed to provide multidisciplinary services covering; structural, civil engineering, environmental and flood risk services.

Marlborough Primary School

Shortlisted category: ‘Social Infrastructure Project of the Year’

The new school has transformed an urban site into a series of terraces that wonderfully defines a school culture centred around day lit space and external play space. It is generously resourced with state-of-the-art facilities including outdoor learning spaces, two large hall spaces, a community room, a dance studio, a creative media suite, an art and design studio and a multi-use games area on the roof.

Waterman’s team is proud to have provided the Structural engineering design for the Marlborough Primary School.

Allerton Waste Recovery Park

Shortlisted category: ‘Utility Project of the Year’

Allerton Waste Recovery Park is a 13,500m2 multi-treatment development on 5.1 hectares of land in North Yorkshire comprising an energy from waste facility, a mechanical treatment facility and an anaerobic digestion unit. The new state-of-the-art facility has a capacity to process 320,000 tons of waste per year, generating electricity for up to 40,000 homes.

Waterman was appointed by Vinci to provide Structural, Civils and Drainage, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire and Environmental consultancy services.

The winners will be announced on 10th October 2018 at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
