Friars Walk wins ‘New Centre of the year’ at the Revo Gold Awards

We are pleased to announce that our project Friars Walk, Newport has won ‘New Centre of the Year’ at the Revo Gold Awards 2016.

This Award recognises developments that have taken the industry forward in these challenging economic times, setting new benchmarks and levels of innovation.

Friars Walk, Newport is a new shopping centre developed by Queensberry Real Estate. Waterman was appointed to provide a wide range of structural, civil, environmental and building services on the retail development located in the heart of the city.

Peter Courtney, Award Chairman and Director of Lunson Mitchenhall, commented: “Nine months on from opening Queensberry has transformed Friars Walk with a first-class retail, F&B and leisure offer at the scheme and throughout the city. National retailers, restauranteurs and major employers have now been attracted to Newport. Resulting from a ground-breaking private-public partnership, the benefits to both have been significant.”

The winners were announced at the awards ceremony which was held on 7th December 2016 at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
