Govtoday – NHS Sustainable Development Conference

Govtoday will hold their Third Annual NHS Sustainable Development Conference and Exhibition; Delivering the Sustainable Healthcare System at the prestigious Brewery Conference Centre on 14th February 2012.

NHS Sustainable Development 2012: Delivering the Sustainable Healthcare System will take stock of the NHS Sustainable Development Strategy, progress to date in the achievement of Carbon Reductions, whilst also identifying areas for concern, discussing the solutions sought and the challenges ahead in the creation of the Sustainable Healthcare System.

Neil Lewis, MD of Waterman Building Services is a confirmed speaker at the event and will explore ‘A Model Estate for Sustainable Healthcare’.

Neil’s seminar will review current building design, estate planning, energy models and best value to plan a model estate that meets today’s needs whilst considering the changes that will challenge us in the years to come.

No other development sector demands a more holistic understanding of true sustainability than Healthcare.  Balancing the needs of the local community within the constraints of available budgets, whilst upholding a moral and legislative need to minimise environmental impact, sets a considerable challenge to Estates managers and their advisors.

If capital is provided to generate on site renewable energy at the loss of additional beds, is this the best use of public money for the needs of todays and future generations?

NHS Sustainable Development 2012: Delivering the Sustainable Healthcare System will provide the latest policy up-dates, data and analysis on the challenge at hand and host a platform to discuss and hear from the leading lights within the Sustainable Development field.
