Marble Arch Place tops out
Waterman is delighted that Marble Arch Place, the landmark mixed-use development overlooking London’s Hyde Park, has reached its highest point structurally and celebrated with a milestone ‘topping out’ ceremony on 2 October.
Designed by Rafael Viñoly for Almacantar, the development comprises a 19-storey residential building, The Bryanston Hyde Park, alongside 5 Marble Arch; seven floors of prime office space which has already been pre-let and 26,000 ft2 of retail.
A new public realm at street level will increase accessibility to Portman Village and offer dynamic retail frontages with cafés, restaurants, shops along with a new five-storey Odeon cinema.
Our environmental and structures teams were appointed to provide environmental impact assessments for the initial planning application, air quality and ground contamination measurements, as well as implementing a top-down basement construction methodology which allowed works below and above ground to be carried out simultaneously; significantly cutting down on construction time.
Our acoustic specialists have also provided predictions of noise transfer from the London Underground in addition to the noise and vibration during the demolition process.
The ambitious project is forecast to complete in Q4 2020.
