Matthew Brown volunteering at Holland Park

We are delighted to see Matthew Brown, a Structural Engineer in our London Office, working alongside 19 volunteers from the Dukes Court Project Team in Holland Park, London, on Friday 29 September.

The day was organised by Skanska, the Project Contractor via their partner Groundwork, as part of their country-wide project to improve local environments and communities.

Matthew and the team were put to task mixing compost and planting hundreds of seedlings which will be cultivated and sent to local schools and community gardens. Further work included the reconstruction and extension of two willow round houses within the Conservation School area of the park which is used to teach local school children about the importance of nature and conservation.

He said of the day; “Everyone had a lot of fun getting their hands dirty and stuck into all of the work. I really enjoyed being a part of the team and knowing that the local schools are going to benefit from our efforts throughout the year.”
