Multidiscipline win on London Wall heritage refurbishment
Waterman are delighted to announce our appointment for the refurbishment of 1-5 London Wall. Recently purchased by a joint venture between Angelo Gordon and Endurance Land from the Corporation of London, the five multi-tenanted buildings provide a variety of office suites that will benefit from enhanced communal amenities including shower facilities and bike storage.
The Grade II-listed island site of five interlinking buildings is situated in the heart of the City of London’s financial district. The scheme is located very close to Liverpool Street station and the new Elizabeth Line station, with Bank and Moorgate stations within close proximity. The buildings are conveniently-located for a number of amenities including retail, restaurants, bars and gyms.
Preserving the heritage of these historical properties is crucial. We are carefully considering the refurbishment strategy to create a new welcoming entrance and reception from Finsbury circus with co-working facilities and enhanced retail space on London Wall. Whilst maintaining a host of original features including marble and wood panelling with period design, our team of experts will be working alongside architect Carmody Groarke and project manager Quartz on the extensive refurbishment, providing multidiscipline advice, covering building services, structures, environmental and transport.
Mark Terndrup, Director of Waterman Building Services said; “It’s fantastic to be selected for the design team on this exciting project. Working with historical buildings is always a challenge and I am sure that our expertise in refurbishment projects will help Endurance Land and the team to create a vibrant new work place that will guarantee the building proves popular with tenants for years to come.”
