Neil Humphrey joins ACE as Chair of Pipeline and Procurement
Waterman is pleased to confirm that Neil Humphrey, COO of Infrastructure & Environment, has joined the Board of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) as their new Chair of Pipeline and Procurement, which is one of ACE’s new focus areas.
The news comes as ACE announced their senior positions for existing and new priorities to successfully tackle major issues such as levelling-up, NetZero and the future of the industry. Representing 430 professional consultancies and engineering companies in the social and economic infrastructure sectors, ACE champions infrastructure to Government and other stakeholders. They have successfully helped members navigate the pandemic whilst remaining a trusted voice to Government and policymakers.
Chief Executive of ACE, Hannah Vickers said in a recent statement: “Over the last year the board and I have worked closer than ever before and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking them for their input and support through these extraordinary times. My team and I have recently developed a new ACE corporate plan which will be launched in the coming weeks outlining how we can best equip the sector for the post-Covid world. These new positions will ensure that we have the expertise and oversight at board level to successfully tackle major issues such as levelling-up, net zero and the future of our industry.”
Neil Humphrey is also a member of ACE’s NetZero Taskforce which recently launched the report Net Zero, a joint initiative between ACE and the Environmental Industries Commission’s (EIC’s), representing a year of industry-wide research and discussion (read more).
Commenting on his appointment as Chair of ACE’s Pipeline and Procurement group, Neil said: “I am delighted to be joining the ACE Board at such a pivotal moment for the sector, and I am looking forward to working with the team to develop this important area for our members. At a time when the Government is setting out ambitious plans for the UK’s transition to net zero alongside much needed investment in infrastructure to facilitate its levelling up aspirations, as an industry we need the clarity and transparency of the forward pipeline to enable us to support the Government and wider clients in meeting these challenges.“
