Planning permission granted for Jersey IFC building 6
We are pleased that planning permission has been granted for the third building at Jersey International Finance Centre (IFC 6), situated on the Esplanade Quarter in the heart of St Helier.
The IFC 6 building will create 70,000 sq ft of internal office space across five floors. It will include a restaurant on part of the ground floor and private underground parking for 51 cars.
This high-quality Grade A office building, alongside IFC 1 and IFC 5 will support the growth of locally based international/multi-jurisdictional businesses and will potentially attract new business to the island.
IFC forms a new extension to the existing central business district and will establish a clear identity for the island’s premier industry and strengthen the connection between the historic town centre and the waterfront.
Waterman is proud to be part of an innovative team delivering the IFC 6 building under the lead of MJP Architects. We have been appointed to provide structural, building services and design services as well as assist with BREEAM, acoustics and transport planning.
The building has been designed to achieve a BREEAM 2008 Excellent rating. Furthermore, its carbon performance will be reduced by 30% using low and zero carbon technologies, including air source heat pumps and heat recovery ventilation. The offices will also use low energy LED lighting with daylight dimming control.
