Royal College of Pathologists wins RIBA London Award

We are delighted that the Royal College of Pathologists’ new HQ has won a RIBA London Award at the RIBA Regional Awards.

The award aims to recognise successful projects that reflect changes and innovations in architecture, whilst displaying a commitment to designing and developing buildings and spaces for the improvement and enhancement of people’s lives.

Home to medical research professionals for over 50 years, the Royal College of Pathologists recently invested in stunning new premises in Aldgate, central London. The new eight-storey headquarters features a double-height entrance atrium with floor to ceiling windows to maximise natural daylight. Designed by Bennetts Associates architects, the scheme includes a suite of state-of-art facilities with a multi-purpose 210-person conference theatre, meeting rooms, office space and examination rooms.

Our team provided the structural design for the project, working closely with the architect to incorporate pioneering concrete techniques which add to the premium look of the building’s interior finishes, whilst also reducing the structure’s carbon footprint, and saving both time and cost elsewhere. You can read more about the project here.

The Royal College of Pathologists will now be considered for a RIBA National Award later this year.

Congratulations to all the team involved in this award-winning project!
