St Vincent’s Place wins Constructing Excellence Award

Waterman are delighted that St Vincent’s Place, the exemplary Unite Student accommodation for Sheffield University, has scooped the prize for ‘Preservation & Rejuvenation’ within the Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber (CEYH) Awards on 11 July.

Hosted in Leeds and organised by the School of Built Environment and Engineering at Leeds Beckett University, the annual Awards celebrates everything the UK’s built environment has to be proud of. Nominees have poured in across 14 categories with the judging panel making their decision by recognising the best companies, collaborations and projects within both the private and public sectors.

St Vincent’s Place is a 10 minutes’ walk from the main University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam campuses and accommodates up to 600 students within its modern, self-contained apartments. The newly constructed six-storey development comprises a mixture of studio and en-suite rooms while the beautifully-restored St Vincent’s Church, designed by Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson architects, sits within the heart of the site as a student hub providing communal facilities such as a cinema, games room, music room, quiet study and meeting spaces. Waterman were appointed to provide MEP engineering services as part of Unite Student’s consultancy framework for the student accommodation delivery.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic project!

The regional winners will now go forward for the national awards later in the year.
