The Marq on London’s exclusive Duke Street tops out

We are pleased to celebrate that the latest St James’s redevelopment project, The Marq, has ‘topped-out’ after reaching the height of 37 m.

Formerly known as Duke’s Court, the six-storey office block will bolster the Crown Estate’s business offering with the addition of 3,234 m² of office accommodation and 1,034 m² of retail space. Forming part of the greater St James’s redevelopment, The Marq will boast enviable sustainability credentials with a targeted BREEAM rating of ‘Outstanding’ for the office space, whilst the project has already secured a WELL standard Gold rating.

We are proud to have provided structural engineering services on the project, particularly focused on maximising internal space on this challenging site, working alongside main contractor Skanska and steel contractors Bourne.

Richard Whitehead, our Structures Director, commented; “We are delighted to see the completion of the structure of The Marq. This has been a complex project at a busy location with several constraints on the site. It has been an exciting project for us, involving creative engineering in close proximity to nearby buildings and busy streets. The structural works have gone very smoothly thanks to close collaboration between all parties. The project is a great credit to all involved.”

The project is due to complete in March 2019.
