Tim Davies joins speaker line up to address the carbon reduction challenge facing UK educational estates
Waterman’s sustainability expert, Tim Davies, will join experts from ISG, Ramboll and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, to discuss the urgent actions required to reduce CO2 emissions across the UK’s educational estates. Together, the panel will consider what the sector must do in order to reduce the energy consumption of its buildings by 80% in order to meet the 2050 net zero targets.
Taking place on Wednesday 26 May, the event will examine recent findings from ISG’s Sustainable Buildings Monitor which indicates that the Education Estates sector is responsible for 5.7% of the UK’s non-domestic energy use, despite only accounting for 2.1% of non-domestic building stock.
Chaired by Jane O’Leary, ISG’s strategic advisor for education, the panel will discuss initiatives already underway to address these figures and what else needs to be done to ensure our present and future educational spaces meet the net zero targets.
