Twickenham Gateway Blocks A and B top-out
Waterman are delighted that Twickenham Gateway Blocks A and B have topped-out, following ten years of design development at this complex site at Twickenham station.
Featuring under-croft car parking and direct access to the station platforms, the new development offers 91 residential units across Block A and B, with 24 additional units to follow with the completion of Block C, anticipated commencement of construction to start later this year once development work at the station beneath draws to a close. Twickenham station has undergone major refurbishment and is being updated throughout, transforming the original 1950’s-built station to offer a modern facility at this bustling location.
Since beginning work on this project in 2009, our team has provided civil and structural engineering and geo-environmental contaminated land services. We have worked closely with principal contractor, Osborne, and client, Solum, to overcome the numerous logistical challenges presented by building over a busy station and live rails.
Richard Papworth, Board Director for Waterman Structures, said; “I’m extremely proud to see the topping-out of Blocks A and B at Twickenham Gateway, having worked on this scheme personally for over a decade. To bring the project to this point has been a challenging process, following several years of consultation with Network Rail on the design over the live rail line and station. I am delighted to see the project reach this important milestone, a major achievement for all involved.”
Completion of Twickenham Gateway Block A and B is anticipated later in 2019. The apartments are available to purchase now, for more information click here.
