Two Fifty One tops out

We are pleased to celebrate the ‘topping out’ of Two Fifty One. The 41-storey residential tower, which is set to provide panoramic views over London, has reached its highest point structurally and will, when complete, offer 335 new homes across 3,100m2 of modern office space and 280m2 of new retail space.

Located on London’s Southbank, the 0.51-acre mixed-use development is part of the on-going regeneration of the Elephant & Castle area. The tower’s amenities include 24-hour concierge, Wi-Fi lounge, cinema club, health and spa club, entertaining space and cafes and bars, as well as fully glazed winter gardens.

Waterman was appointed by ECA Development to provide a wide range of structural, mechanical & electrical, environmental and transportation consultancy services for the project. Our specialised teams also provided acoustic design and sustainability advice, including guidance on building elements, waste and energy usage as well as acoustic specification of all building elements and building services plant. The wider design team is working closely with future residents of the development to ensure a high quality acoustic environment and the highest standard of sustainable living is in place.

Richard Papworth, Waterman’s Director of Structures, was proud to be amongst the guests at the ceremony on the 5th May. He commented; “This is a tremendous milestone and achievement to everyone involved to deliver a 41-storey residential tower in precast concrete. We are excited to have completed the structural frame on programme and to enter the next phase for this fantastic project which is a unique addition to the new vibrant neighbourhood just south of the River Thames.”

The project is due for completion in the beginning of 2018.
