Victoria Gate Arcades shortlisted for the Brick Awards

We are delighted that our project Victoria Gate Arcades has been shortlisted in two categories, ‘Commercial Building Award’ and ‘Urban Regeneration Award’ at the Brick Awards.

The category ‘Commercial Building Award’ recognises a variety of project types including offices, retail, leisure schemes, industrial, religious buildings and mixed-use developments. The use of clay brick adds to the overall success of the development.

The category ‘Urban Regeneration Award’ celebrates projects which have significantly improved the urban area, demonstrating a substantial, appropriate and sensitive use of clay brick.

Victoria Gate is anchored by the flagship John Lewis store as well as 30 new retailers and restaurants making it the go to premium shopping, leisure and dining destination in the North. The Victoria Gate Arcades are designed as a two-storey, twin arcade with a complex roof scape continuing the grand history of Leeds’ 19th century arcades.

Waterman is proud to have provided multidiscipline services for the development and were also appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to complete the multidisciplinary engineering services design as part of their design and build contract, with additional expertise provided on the acoustics, fire engineering and transportation.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 9th November 2017 at The Hilton, Park Lane.

Congratulations to all those involved in this great project!
