Victoria Gate celebrates milestone

Victoria Gate, the prestigious new retail landmark for Leeds, celebrates an important construction milestone with the traditional ‘topping out’ ceremony, which symbolises that the highest point structurally has been reached on the project.

The £150m development scheme, which includes a new John Lewis building, has reached its full height of 34 metres and is now a prominent part of the city’s skyline.

This latest milestone is a tremendous achievement for the whole project team following many years of commitment and hard work. Waterman have provided multidiscipline input in consultation with the wider development team for this new Leeds retail landmark. Waterman’s Steven Halmshaw, Karen Telling, Mark Billington and Steve Nicolaou with their respective teams attended the ceremony.

Victoria Gate is due to open in the autumn of 2016.
