Victoria Gate confirms opening date

Hammerson has confirmed that Leeds’ newest retail destination, Victoria Gate, will open its doors on 20th October 2016, perfect timing for Christmas.

The £165m development, is already 74% pre-let and will be anchored by a flagship John Lewis store as well as a range of new retailers and restaurants making it the go to premium shopping, leisure and dining destination in the North.

We are proud to have provided multidiscipline services on the development and were also appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to complete the multidisciplinary engineering services design as part of their design and build contract with additional expertise provided on the acoustics, fire engineering and transportation.

Waterman’s Structures Director, Karen Telling, commented; “The opening of Victoria Gate will be a tremendous milestone for the entire project team after many years of commitment. We are extremely proud to have been involved in this new and iconic retail scheme which is set to transform the city’s premium retail, dining and leisure offer.
