Waterman appointed on £30m residential scheme in Edinburgh

We are delighted to be appointed on MCR Property Group’s £30m redevelopment of Edinburgh’s Chesser House on Gorgie Road.

The office block will be converted into housing together with ground floor retail and an on-site gym. Open plan floorplates will be divided to form 163 individual apartments, with a new build penthouse floor maximising the available floorspace and completing its transformation into Embankment West.

Waterman is providing structural engineering services for the alterations to the existing hybrid concrete frame building including the addition of a new floor above the existing roof level.

Nick Lake of MCR Property Group commented; “We hope that the conversion of Chesser House will be the first of many projects for MCR in Scotland, and we are delighted to be working with Waterman Group to deliver 40 much needed affordable homes for Edinburgh and 123 apartments from private sale.”

Demolition commenced in December 2017 with completion scheduled for early 2019.
