Waterman appointed to Rochdale Canal Project

Our Transport & Development division has been appointed by The Borough Council of Calderdale as designers for the Canal Connections: Rochdale Canal Access Improvement Project; a programme of work focusing on improving access to the Rochdale Canal within Calderdale.

The Council is working with Pennine Prospects and the Canal and River Trust (formerly British Waterways) on a wide-ranging programme of work to improve access and interpretation of the Rochdale Canal and encourage its greater use by local people and visitors.

Waterman has teamed up with masterplanners, landscape architects and urban designers Iteriad Ltd to design and deliver the improvement works, which will include re-surfacing towpaths, providing gateways and improving access ramps.
