Waterman celebrates completion of 160 Aldersgate Street

We are delighted that the extensive redevelopment of 160 Aldersgate Street has reached practical completion.

The newly completed scheme provides 266,000ft2 of extensively refurbished, high quality office space for the City of London market. As designed by Fletcher Priest Architects, the project consisted of the full replacement to the existing façade, new open roof terraces and the inclusion of additional storeys.

The 1980’s office block, situated above the deepest car park in London, has gone through a dramatic reconfiguration of the existing atrium, main entrance and upper level floor space to maximise the use of the basement, ground floor and office areas.

We were appointed by Greyhound Investing Corp c/o Mercer Real Estate Partners to carry out full structural, M&E and fire engineering design duties. This included advising on the energy strategy and façade performance to meet Part L2A 2010 requirements.

A large proportion of the building had been pre-let prior to the completion of the detailed design, whereby our team were involved within the negotiations and inclusion of tenant requirements.
