Waterman celebrates the completion of prestigious office building at Central Park, Dublin
We are pleased to celebrate the completion of our project Block H, a Grade A office building in one of the most prestigious business parks in South Dublin.
The eight-storey Block H provides 15,200m2 of office space including a triple basement with 300 car parking spaces. It is part of the existing commercial component of the Central Park development which comprises five modern office buildings and a retail/restaurant building, as well as 3 residential apartment blocks.
Waterman Moylan was appointed to provide Civil, Structural and Transportation services for this substantial development. Our structures team used advanced modelling software to design the reinforced concrete frame of the building in line with Eurocode 2. This analysis and design software links seamlessly with the Revit 3D modelling and drawing production software, allowing rapid assessment of various scheme designs resulting in an optimised final design and associated production drawings completed well within the Client programme.
Furthermore, our building services team was appointed as the LEED Commissioning Agent on the project. In this role we acted as Client representative to provide independent oversight of the mechanical and electrical services design in order to ensure the Client brief is being met and to review how easily the system can be commissioned.
The building has been designed to achieve a LEED Gold accreditation from the US Green Building Council. The LEED accreditation system has been gaining popularity in Ireland in the last couple of years as a result of increased American based inward investment.
Eoghan Loughrey, Associate, commented: “We are very proud of our involvement in this prestigious development and we have worked closely with the Client and other members of the Design team towards the successful completion of Block H. We look forward to continuing our working relationships and to proceed with the next phases of the business park for which planning stages have already been completed.”
Permission has been given to proceed with the design and construction of the next phase, Block I, which will add a further 7,600m2 of commercial space over 7 floors and an additional 159 car parking spaces in 2 levels of basement parking to the Central Park Campus.
