Waterman certifies 500 Principal Designers as sought-after course reaches new height

Shortly after the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) came into force, Waterman’s Health and Safety experts developed a two-day course – ‘Certificate in Principal Designer (PD) Services’ – which was accredited by the Association for Project Safety (APS).

The new course generated a great deal of demand and has seen 500 professionals across the UK receiving accredited training.

The carefully crafted programme draws on the team’s depth and breadth of expertise. Their innovative and high-quality training contributed to the team winning the APS Consultancy of the Year award in 2017.

The highly-sought-after training is now being delivered in a more bespoke format. Nick Bell, Waterman’s lead trainer for the course, explained; “We are very pleased with how well the course has been received so far. We work in close collaboration with each of our clients to understand their needs and then carefully tailor the course content around their particular projects and processes.”

A new mentoring service had been a recent, but already popular, addition to the overall training offering. Clients can now benefit from ongoing support after course completion, helping them to fine tune their approach to the PD role.

At the time when Waterman reached its ‘500’-delegate milestone the team was delivering training for Berkeley Group.

Nick also provided advice to ensure our procedures were world-class and tailored the course to reflect these procedures.”
